How to sell meme coins

Buying is one click; selling is where memecoin money is made or lost. This guide covers the mechanics (selling all or part, the settings that let a sell land in a falling market) and the decisions: when to take your cost out, how to sell a coin with little liquidity, and what it means when a coin will not sell at all.

Step by step

  1. Open your position. On BLIX, your portfolio and every coin's page show what you hold, its live value and what it would really fetch (sellable value).
  2. Choose how much. Sell buttons sell a share of the position; the shares are yours to set in the trade presets.
  3. Check slippage. In a fast drop a sell with tight slippage fails while the price keeps falling. 15–20% is common for busy coins.
  4. Send it. The swap goes straight to the pump.fun curve if the coin has not migrated, or through Jupiter if it has, with a priority fee that matches the coin.

When to sell

  • At 2x, take your cost out. What is left cannot lose you money.
  • Into strength, not weakness. Selling into a green candle gets a better price than selling into the dump after it.
  • When the reason breaks. The dev sold, a bundle is dumping, the smart wallets left, the narrative died.
  • At a price you set in advance. A take profit placed when you buy is the one you actually take.

Selling a coin with little liquidity

If your position is a big share of the pool, one sell will crash the price and fill far below the quote. Sell in pieces, into buys, and watch the sellable value rather than the marked value: it is what the position is worth.

When a coin won't sell

If the token's freeze authority is still active, the creator can freeze your tokens so they cannot move: a honeypot. If liquidity was pulled, there is nothing to sell into. Both can be checked before you buy; see the honeypot checker.

Profit, history and a card to share

Your portfolio shows open positions with live profit, today's and lifetime results, and every closed trade with its entry and exit. Any position can be turned into a PnL card to post. The same view exists for any wallet on Solana, not only yours.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sell a meme coin on Solana?

Open the position on a terminal or in your wallet, choose how much, set slippage for how fast the price is moving, and swap the token back to SOL.

Why can't I sell my meme coin?

Usually slippage too tight in a falling market. If it never works, the token may have an active freeze authority (a honeypot) or no liquidity left.

When should I take profit on a meme coin?

A common rule: sell half at 2x so the rest is free, then sell in steps or trail a stop. Decide it when you buy.

Should I sell all at once?

On a thin coin, no: sell in pieces into buys. Your own sell can move the price a lot.
