On this page
- You need
- SOL, a Solana wallet, the coin's contract address
- Where to buy
- A terminal, a wallet's swap, or a launchpad's page
- Find the coin by
- Its contract address, never the ticker
- Check first
- Rug check, holders, dev, bundles
- Settings
- Slippage 10–25%, a priority fee that matches the coin
- Practice
- Paper mode at real quotes
Step by step
- Get SOL. Buy SOL on an exchange (Coinbase, Kraken, Binance and others) and withdraw it to your Solana wallet address. Memecoins on Solana are bought with SOL.
- Get a wallet. Phantom, Solflare and Backpack are browser and phone wallets you control. A BLIX account makes you a Solana wallet when you sign in with Google, and you can export its key at any time.
- Find the coin by its contract address. Tickers are not unique: the same $TICKER launches dozens of times a day. Copy the CA from the project's own X post or from a terminal's row, and paste it, never type the name.
- Check it before you buy. The rug check, the dev's history, the share held by bundles and snipers, the top 10 and the chart with the traders on it. On BLIX that is one screen; it is the thirty seconds that matter most.
- Set your size and slippage. Decide the amount you can lose entirely. For a coin still on the pump.fun curve, slippage of 15–25% is normal; for a quiet coin in a pool, 5–10%. The slippage and priority fee guide explains why.
- Buy, then plan the sell. Set a take profit and a stop loss as you buy, or decide now at what price you take your cost back out. Most memecoin losses are holds that were never planned.
Where to buy
| How it works | Good for | |
|---|---|---|
| A trading terminal | New coins, holders, chart and buy buttons on one screen | Buying early and fast, with the checks beside the button |
| A wallet's swap | Phantom and others swap any token by CA through an aggregator | An occasional buy of a coin you already researched |
| The launchpad's page | Buy on pump.fun's own page while the coin is on the curve | Simple, but no holder or rug checks |
| A Telegram bot | Paste a CA into a chat, the bot buys | Speed on a phone; see Telegram bots compared |
Buying on BLIX
Sign in with Google and BLIX makes you a Solana wallet. Deposit SOL, set your size once, and buy from any list or chart in one click: the swap is routed through Jupiter with a priority fee set per trade so it lands fast. Sell all or part of a position just as fast. The fee is 2% a trade, 1.6% if you joined through an invite, and you can export your private key or withdraw at any time.
Try it with paper money first
Paper mode fills every buy and sell at the price a real swap would get right now, takes trading costs off each side, and runs the same take profit, stop loss and trailing stop. Flip to live when you are ready; the screens are the same.
The mistakes that cost the most
- Buying a copy: the right name, the wrong contract address.
- Buying after the post that everybody saw, at the top of the candle it made.
- Slippage set to 1% on a curve coin: the buy fails, again and again, while the price runs.
- Putting in money you need, then refusing to sell at a loss.
The BLIX community
Every account comes with the BLIX Discord: the people trading on the terminal, the narratives as they form, feature drops before they are announced, and the team answering questions. Join the Discord once you have signed up.
Memecoin basics
Check a coin before you buy
Memecoins are extremely risky and most go to zero. Nothing on this page is financial advice.
Frequently asked questions
How do I buy a meme coin on Solana?
Get SOL into a Solana wallet, copy the coin's contract address from a trusted source, check it, and swap SOL for it on a terminal, in your wallet or on the launchpad's page.
How do I buy pump.fun coins?
While a coin is on the bonding curve it trades on pump.fun's curve; terminals like BLIX buy straight from the curve. After it migrates it trades in a PumpSwap pool and any Solana swap can reach it.
Can I buy meme coins with Phantom?
Yes: Phantom's swap takes a contract address. It has no holder or rug checks beside the button, so do those first somewhere that has them.
How much should I put into a meme coin?
Only what you can lose entirely. Traders who last usually size each buy at a small slice of their trading balance and expect most buys to lose.
Why did my meme coin buy fail?
Usually slippage: the price moved more than you allowed between sending and landing. Raise it for curve coins, and give the transaction a priority fee in line with what the coin's other buyers are paying.
